About the idea for these homemade spring decorations
Bottle caps are ideal for craft projects with children or various upcycling projects.
Over time, many crown caps have accumulated on our magnetic bottle cap collector by Bierbaum.
That's why we decided to give them a second life and use them to make various magnetic spring decorations.
Crafting ladybird magnets
The first step for your homemade spring decoration in the form of ladybird magnets is to paint your bottle caps with red acrylic paint. Our tip: To prevent the writing from showing through the paint, we recommend priming the bottle caps with white paint and then painting them red. It is best to leave the paint to dry overnight.Once the paint has dried, you can work on the beetle's head.
To do this, use a black permanent marker to colour in an area of the lid as a head and dab on the eyes with white paint or a white marker.
Next, draw a black dividing line for the wings and paint small dots on the body.
Lastly, glue a magnet of type S-06-06-N to the underside of the crown cap. And with that, your homemade fridge magnets are ready for use.

Crafting flower magnets
Flower magnets in all kinds of colours also fit the spring theme. To create these spring decorations, you will also need paper in different colours or multi-coloured sheets of paper. Cut out different flowers from the paper. Alternatively, you can also print different shapes on the coloured paper and then cut them out. Keep in mind that the beer cap has to fit in the centre of the flower.Next, paint the inside of the lid.
There are no limits here.
You can add patterns or paint it in a single colour.
Afterwards, glue the bottle cap onto the paper flower and press it down firmly for a few seconds.
Once the glue has dried, glue a disc magnet, e. g.
type S-12-01-N,
to the back of the paper.
Crafting bunny magnets
Spring is also associated with Easter. That's why bunny magnets should not be missing from your spring decorations. To make these cute decorative magnets, proceed as you would with the flower magnets. Cut out the contours of bunny ears from coloured paper or print a template. In this project, the bottle cap turns into the bunny's face. Colour the inside of your bottle cap or draw a face on it. Lastly, glue the crown cap and the disc magnet each onto one side of the cut-out shape. Now, your Easter magnets are bursting with joy.Crafting bee magnets
In addition to the ladybird magnets, you can also make adorable bee magnets with bottle caps and black and yellow paint. Simply paint the bottle caps yellow and, after a short drying time, draw on the black stripes with acrylic paint or a black marker. Then cut out small wings from black paper and stick them to the sides of the crown caps. As a last step, attach a neodymium magnet type S-06-06-N to your piece of art. Now, the ladybirds and bees can fly on your fridge, cheerfully heralding the arrival of spring.
